Job Description:
Responsibilities Under general supervision from supervisor perform skilled electrical installations, repair work at Master Electrician skill level. Serve as team leader and train others in proper work methods and procedures. Perform all essential functions of an Electrician Apprentice. Install, maintain, and repair all electrical systems. Observe functioning of installed equipment or systems to detect need for adjustments, relocation, replacement, or repair. Maintain higher voltage services by activities like racking out breakers at substations, opening oil switches and replacing fuses on medium voltage lines. Plan new or modified installation to minimize waste of materials, to provide access for future maintenance and avoid unsightly, hazardous, and unreliable wiring consistent with specifications and local electrical codes. Test fire alarm systems, Complete work, time, and materials usage reports. Perform other duties as assigned by Superintendent/Supervisor. Required Qualifications Requires high school diploma or GED, valid Ohio Driver’s License, and a Journeyman's Certification. Successful completion of a State Certified Apprenticeship Training Program for Electricians. Requires a minimum of 6 years’ experience performing work of an electrician. Ability to operate and use standard powered and nonpowered tools and equipment typically associated with the electrical trade required. Ability to perform mathematics associated with trade applications (fractions, ratios, percentages) required. Ability to read, write and accurately follow oral, written, and graphic instructions required. Considerable physical exertion, with or without a reasonable accommodation, required involving bending, stooping, crawling, climbing, lifting or carrying heavy items (over 50 lbs. -- 75 lbs.) and periodically (up to 1/3 of time) working in difficult or awkward positions. Compensation/Grade & Benefits This position starts at $21.54 hourly and is a grade 09.
